Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Quantity Surveyor role based in Nairobi County, Kenya.

The Quantity

Surveyor will be responsible for preparing and reviewing Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cost estimates, and tender documentation for various construction projects. Daily tasks include cost planning, cost control, and cost reporting throughout pre-contract and post-contract stages. The role will involve evaluating variations, preparing interim valuations, monitoring project expenditures, and supporting final account settlements.

The Quantity

Surveyor will also liaise with clients, contractors, and consultants, attend site meetings, and ensure that all cost management activities align with contractual and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Strong cost planning and cost management skills, including the ability to prepare accurate estimates and budgets.
  • Demonstrated experience in cost control and cost reporting to track project financial performance.
  • Proficiency in preparing, analyzing, and reviewing BOQs and tender documents.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with relevant construction contracts, standards, and procurement methods.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and quantity surveying or construction cost software; experience with Blue beam is an advantage.
  • Ability to work on-site, manage multiple assignments, and meet project deadlines.
  • Professional membership or progress toward membership in a recognized quantity surveying or construction body is an added advantage
